Tokyo 2020: Coronavirus cases increasing

Guinea has pulled out from the 32nd Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, Guineenews reported.

The country's sports administration made such a decision because of the risk of infection with the coronavirus.

Guinea was to be represented by five athletes at Tokyo 2020.

Twelve new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in recent days at Tokyo 2020, the total respective number has reached 91, of which 52 are locals and 39 are foreigners.

A state of emergency has been declared in the Japanese capital, from July 12 to August 8, due to an increase in coronavirus cases.

The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics were postponed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and they will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
