Two participants of the Olympic Games have tested positive for COVID-19 at Tokyo Olympic village, the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee’s website reported. Another athlete not residing in the village has also tested positive. Kyodo reports that the two infected athletes are members of the same country’s team, and all the three athletes represent the same sport.

They will be isolated and will get tested once every few days. If they test negative six hours before a tournament, they will be allowed to participate.

There is a state of emergency in Tokyo from July 12 to August 22—and due to the increase in the spread of coronavirus.

The 32nd Summer Olympics in the Japanese capital will be held from July 23 to August 8—but without spectators.
