Karen Khachanov makes it to quarter-final of Wimbledon for first time in his career

Russia-based Armenian tennis player Karen Khachanov (29) has made it to the quarter-final of Wimbledon for the first time in his career.

The 25-year-old Armenian tennis player competed with 21-year-old American Sebastian Corda (50) in Round 16 and was at an advantage in five sets (36, 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8). The tournament lasted 3 hours and 50 minutes.

In the quarter-final, Khachanov’s opponent will be the winner of the match between Canadian tennis player Denis Shapovalov and Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut.

The prize fund for Wimbledon is 35,000,000 Funt Sterlings, and the winner of the solo game will receive 1,700,000 Funt Sterlings.
