Euro 2020: Switzerland eliminate France!

Reigning World Cup champions France are out of Euro 2020, not overcoming the Swiss “barrier.”

The regular time of their Round of 16 clash in Bucharest, Romania, ended in a 3-3draw, no goal was scored in extra time, and Switzerland won on penalties.

In the quarterfinals Euro 2020, Switzerland will face—on Friday, in Saint Petersburg, Russia—Spain, which had beaten World Cup runners-up Croatia 5-3 in extra time in their Round of 16 match earlier in the day.
