Courtois: Ronaldo is same player as when I was at Atletico, I evolved more
13:09 26 June, 2021Real Madrid and reigning World Cup bronze medalist Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois spoke about Portugal captain and Juventus star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
To note, Belgium and Portugal will meet in the playoffs of Euro 2020.
"We [Belgium] have a plan to stop Portugal, they aren't just one player," Courtois said in his prematch press conference, Marca reported. "Cristiano is the top scorer in the Euros, he's an excellent player, obviously. However, I think he is still the same player he was when I was at Atletico [Madrid], I have evolved more."
The 29-year-old goalkeeper played for Atletico from 2011 to 2014.
The Belgium vs. Portugal clash in the Round of 16 of Euro 2020 will take place Sunday in Seville, Spain, and will kick off at 11pm Armenia time.
