EWF's Turkish president and 17 Turkish weightlifters charged for doping violations
23:16 24 June, 2021The International Testing Agency (ITA) has charged Turkish President of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) Hasan Akkus with concealing the doping violations of Turkish weightlifters.
In 2013, as president of the Turkish Weightlifting Federation, Hasan Akkus entered into a criminal deal with representatives of the International and European Weightlifting Federations and concealed the doping violations of 17 Turkish weightlifters, ITA’s press service reported.
Former President of the International Weightlifting Federation Tamas Ajan and former Vice-President of the International Weightlifting Federation Nicolae Vlad have also been charged.
