Ferdinand Karapetian scores pass to Tokyo 2020
21:54 22 June, 2021Leading member of the Armenia national judo team Ferdinand Karapetian (73 kg category) scored a pass to Tokyo 2020. The International Judo Federation has released the final list of participants of the Olympic Games. Europe’s champion Ferdinand Karapetian scored one of the passes for the European zone and will be Armenia’s only participant in this sport.
Before this, Armenia had 13 passes, including four in Greco-Roman wrestling, two in freestyle wrestling, two in boxing, two in weightlifting, one in gymnastics, one in triathlon.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Tokyo 2020 was postponed for a year and will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
