Euro 2020: France beat Germany
00:55 16 June, 2021Reigning football World Cup champions France kicked off their 16th European Football Championship (Euro 2020)—which was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic—campaign with a win.
They faced Germany in their group-stage match and won 1-0.
Portugal also have 3 points in Group F, as they defeated Hungary 3-0 earlier in the day, and are first in the current standings in this group.
In their second round, France will clash with Hungary on Saturday in Budapest, and Portugal will lock horns with Germany on the same day in Munich.
