Grand Chess Tour: Armenia’s Aronian plays draw with So of US
19:01 6 June, 2021Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian (Armenia) competed with Wesley So (US) in the second round of the Grand Chess Tour’s Superbet Chess Classic in Bucharest, Romania, and they agreed to a draw in the 30th move.
In the first round, Aronian had played a draw with Constantin Lupulescu (Romania).
In the third round, the Armenian GM will play against Fabiano Caruana (US), who is the current leader, with 1.5 points.
Superbet Chess Classic will end on June 15.
The Grand Chess Tour consists of five tournaments and its total prize fund is $1,275,000. Superbet Chess Classic is the first tournament in this series.
