World No. 2 in women's tennis, Naomi Osaka, has pulled out of the French Open, where she had advanced to the second round.

“I think now the best thing for the tournament, the other players and my well-being is that I withdraw so that everyone can get back to focusing on the tennis going on in Paris," the Japanese player tweeted.

Before the start of Roland Garros, Naomi Osaka had stated that she will not answer reporters' questions in Paris and will avoid the media.

She did not show up to the first press conference and was fined $15,000 for that. The management of the Grand Slam tournaments issued a statement and warned that Ossetia would be disqualified if her boycott continued.
