Henrikh Mkhitaryan surprised after not receiving invitation from Armenia national team

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, midfielder for the Armenia national team and Roma, says he was surprised when he didn’t receive an invitation from the Armenia national team led by Spanish manager Joaquin Caparros to play during the upcoming friendly matches with the Croatia and Sweden national teams. Mkhitaryan posted about this on his Facebook page, which reads as follows:

“Much to my surprise, the coaching staff of the Armenia national team informed me that, for some reason, I wasn’t invited to play during the upcoming friendly matches. The official explanations aren’t persuasive. Nevertheless, I support our boys and wish them the best during the upcoming matches.”

The Armenia national team will play 2 friendly matches in June, including the Croatia-Armenia friendly match on June 1 at 8 p.m. (Yerevan time) at Velika Gorica City Stadium and the Sweden-Armenia friendly match on June 5 at 10:45 pm. At Friends Arena in Stockholm.
