Mkhitaryan: This was difficult year for all of us but we tried our best
11:33 24 May, 2021Roma and Armenian national team midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan summed up, after scoring a goal in the last—38th—round match (2-2) against Spezia, the Italian Serie A season that just wrapped up.
"This was a difficult year for all of us, but we tried our best. I want to see AS Roma as high as possible in the next years, as the fans and the city deserve it. ed dzeko [i.e., Roma forward Edin Dzeko] thanks for the 3rd assist in a row mate," the 32-year-old footballer wrote on Instagram.
As reported earlier, the Armenian international scored 13 goals and made 11 assists in 34 appearances for Roma, and became the latter’s top scorer in this Serie A season that ended.
Roma finished seventh, with 62 points, and qualified for the UEFA Conference League.
