Mario Kempes: Sooner or later, there will be progress in Armenian football
13:20 18 May, 2021Champion and top scorer of the 1978 World Championship Mario Kempes visited Urartu in Armenia. The legendary footballer walked through the territory of the base, got acquainted with the infrastructure of the club. Kempes talked with the leadership of the academy and greeted the young footballers.
“For such a small state, Urartu has really good conditions. I was told that about 900 children train here, including girls. If there are such conditions, then sooner or later there will be progress in Armenian football,” the club's press service quoted the legendary footballer as saying.
Mario Kempes is in Armenia on a three-day visit at the invitation of FFA President Armen Melikbekyan.
