Toni Kroos tests positive for COVID-19, to miss Real Madrid's last game of championship

Midfielder for Real Madrid and the Germany national team Toni Kroos has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Spanish football club’s press service reports. Kroos had self-isolated on May 14 when he found out that he had had contact with a bearer of the virus.

Toni Kroos won’t be playing with Zidane’s team during the game of the last leg of the Spanish football championship. Real Madrid will play against Villareal on May 22.

This season, the 31-year-old footballer played 42 matches, scored 3 goals and made 12 passes for goals during all the championships with Real Madrid.

Before the last round, Real Madrid were in second place with 81 points and 2 points behind the leading Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s team will play against Valladolid.
