59% of Japanese say Tokyo Olympics should be canceled

About 60% of respondents said the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics should be canceled in the latest poll conducted by The Yomiuri Shimbun.

Among those who said the sporting events should be held, 23% said there should be no spectators, and 16% said there should be a limit on the number of spectators.

As reported earlier, Tokyo 2020 will be held without foreign fans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to the pandemic, the Tokyo Olympics were postponed for a year and will be held from June 23 to August 8, 2021. Currently, Armenia has six passes to the Olympics, including four in the Greco-Roman wrestling (Armen Melikyan, 60 kg; Karen Aslanyan, 67 kg; Karapet Chalyan, 77 kg; Artur Aleksanyan, 97 kg), two in the freestyle wrestling (Arsen Harutyunyan, 57 kg; Vazgen Tevanyan, 65 kg), and one in gymnastics (Artur Davtyan) and boxing (Koryun Soghomonyan, 52 kg) each.
