European Wrestling Championships: Arman Avagyan loses competition for bronze medal
22:01 20 April, 2021Arman Avagyan (79 kg), Armenia’s representative at the European Wrestling Championships in Warsaw, competed with Georgian Nika Kentchadze for the bronze medal and was defeated 0-10.
Avagyan started from the 1/8 final during which he won Germany’s Edward Tatarinov 10-0. In the quarter-final, he was defeated by Slovakian wrestler Akhsarbek Gulayev, who scored a pass to the final.
During this championship, the only member of the Armenia wrestling team who scored a medal is Arman Andreasyan (70 kg), who beat Moldovan Mihail Sava 4-3 for the bronze medal.
