Midfielder for the Armenia national football team and the Russian Krasnodar Eduard Spertsyan, 20, has commented on his entry into the national team. During the third match against Romania of the qualifier for the 2022 World Cup, Spertsyan replaced a footballer and scored a goal.

“I’m very emotional. I could only dream of such an entry into the national team. I was a little to the left, Khoren Bayramyan made a pass to me, I saw a free zone ahead of me, Adamyan went to the center and led the winger with him. I kicked the ball, after which the ball passed the goalkeeper and the pole and was in the net. Before coming out to the field, the coach asked me to be focused and play in my position. At the moment, we were playing with two central midfielders. The coach also reminded me to stay in the center and wait for the counterattack. I feel very proud. I gave it my best shot. All the boys fought until the end. The most important thing is that we didn’t give up and managed to score goals,” Spertsyan said.

For the first time in its history, the Armenia national football team began the qualifier for the World Cup with three victories and is the leader in Group J. North Macedonia and Germany are in second and third places with 6 points each.
