Armenia national football team holds training session at Republican Stadium (LIVE)

The Armenia national football team, which is training for the third-round match against Romania in the group stage of the European qualifier for the 2022 World Cup, held a pre-match training session at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan, NEWS.am Sport’s correspondent reports.

Forward for FC Urartu Artur Miranyan missed the training session and won’t be playing the upcoming match due to an injury. Midfielder for Lamia Gevorg Ghazaryan also missed the training session and will also miss the match against the Romanian team.

All the other footballers participating in the training session trained without restrictions.

On March 30 at 6 p.m. the Romanian team also held a pre-match training session at the Stadium.

The Armenia-Romania clash will take place on March 31 at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium and will kick off at 8 p.m. Armenia time. The game will be refereed by the Latvian team of referees led by 36-year-old Andris Treimanis.

In the past, the Armenia and Romania national teams have played five times. The Romanians won four times, and one match ended with a tie.

After the second round in Group J of the European qualifier for the 2022 World Cup, the Armenia and Germany national teams each have 6 points, Romania and North Macedonia each have 3 points, and Iceland and Lichtenstein have suffered two defeats.
