Spain have set two records owing to their 2-1 away win against Georgia at Sunday’s second round in the group stage of the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, Gracenote reports.

Accordingly, Spain are now unbeaten in an all-time record 65 consecutive World Cup qualifiers (W51-D14-L0) since a 1-0 defeat against Denmark in Copenhagen on March 31, 1993.

Also, the Spaniards surpassed now former West Germany's record by netting a goal in their 37th consecutive World Cup qualifiers. The West Germans had set the now previous record in 1934-1985, by scoring a goal in 36 such games in a row.
