Mixed fighting formally registered in Russia

Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation on Wednesday officially recognized mixed fighting as a sport.  

The Russian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Union had applied for and subsequently received state registration, and therefore it now can organize official tournaments in Russia, Mixfight.ru reports.  

To note, MMA Union was established in May 2012 and it encompasses 57 regions in Russia.
