Saint Petersburg: Margarita Gasparyan makes it to quarterfinals

Russia’s representative Margarita Gasparyan scored her second victory at the tournament of the WTA series in Saint Petersburg and made it to the quarterfinals.

In the second round, the Armenian athlete beat Czech Katerina Sinyakova 6-4 and 6-4 during the 1 hour and 30-minute game.

In the starting round, Margarita Gasparyan outscored French tennis player Christina Mladenovic in three sets.

Gasparyan, 26, is in 126^th place on the WTA classification table and will compete with Russian Yekaterina Aleksandrova during the quarterfinals.
