Armenian wrestlers preparing for international championship in Kyiv

Armenia’s wrestling teams have started training again, the press service of the Armenian Wrestling Federation reported.

Greco-Roman wrestlers will train at Olimpavan sports facility until Feb. 6, while freestyle wrestlers will train until Feb. 13.

Greco-Roman wrestlers will also train between Feb. 10 and 24, and freestyle wrestlers — between Feb. 17 and 24.

Both teams are preparing for the International Wrestling Championship to be held on Feb. 24-28 in Kyiv.

The Tokyo-2020 Olympic Games will be held this year since they were postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic and will take place between Jul. 23 and Aug. 8. Currently, Armenia has two passes to the Olympic Games for Greco-Roman wrestling (Karapet Chalyan, 77 kg; Artur Aleksanyan, 97 kg).
