FC Barcelona president election postponed
21:41 15 January, 2021The election for president of FC Barcelona has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The decision came after a discussion held by the Government of Catalonia and FC Barcelona’s leadership.
The press service of FC Barcelona reported that the Catalonian government had informed the football club that the current epidemiological situation wouldn’t allow most of the members of the team participate in the election on January 24, adding that FC Barcelona has asked the Catalonian government to consider the possibility of making an amendment to the sport legislation for participating in the election through mail-in ballots.
The candidates for president of FC Barcelona are Joan Laporta, Victor Font and Toni Freixa.
