Iranian athlete donates gold medal to family of Artur Sukiasyan who fell in Artsakh war
16:38 14 January, 2021Ahmad Bagheripour, an Iranian athlete who won a gold medal at the 12th Kyokushin Karate Championship held in Armenia in October 201, has presented his gold medal as a tribute to the family of Armenian athlete Artur Sukiasyan, who died during the war in Artsakh in 2020, the press service of the Embassy of Armenia in Iran reported.
Artur Sukiasyan and Ahmad Bagheripour participated in several championships together and had friendly ties.
On January 13, the Iranian athlete presented his gold medal to third Secretary of the Embassy of Armenia in Iran Gor Shahverdyan in order for the latter to transmit the gold medal to Artur Sukiasyan’s family.
