Russia’s representative Margarita Gasparyan failed to score a pass to the Australian Open.

During the final of the qualifying round of the Australian Open Women’s Singles, the Armenian athlete lost to 33-year-old Bulgarian tennis player Tsvetlana Pironkova 3-6 and 5-7 in two sets (the match lasted 1 hour and 26 minutes).

In the previous two stages, 26-year-old Gasparyan played better than Martina De Giuseppe and Mariam Bolkvadze.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Australian Open’s women’s qualifying round is taking place in Dubai, and the men’s qualifying round — in Doha.

This year, the Australian Open will kick off sooner than scheduled (February 8).
