Airthings Masters: Levon Aronian wins second place

Armenia’s leading chess player Levon Aronian (2778) won second place at AIrthings Masters online chess tournament.

In the second round of the final, the Armenian chess master lost to Teimour Radjabov (2758). The first and third matches ended with ties, and Radjabov won the second match.

Aronian will receive a $40,000-dollar reward for winning second place. In the previous two stages, Aronian had outscored American chess player Hikaru Nakamura and French chess player Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.

Airthings Masters is the second stage of the Champions Chess Tour. The winner will receive a $60,000-dollar reward and a pass to the Grand Final to be held in September.
