Mkhitaryan says he appreciates Kanter's call for solidarity with Armenians
14:02 31 December, 2020Roma midfielder and Armenian national football team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan has responded—on Instagram—to Turkish basketball player Enes Kanter, who plays for the NBA team Portland Trail Blazers.
Mkhitaryan wrote, in particular, that he truly appreciates Kanter's call for solidarity with Armenians, welcomes his determination in the cause of justice and peace, and believes that athletes have enough power—with their voice—to bring about change.
Enes Kanter had written a letter to Henrikh Mkhitaryan, calling on the Armenian footballer to fight together against Turkish dictator president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and to establish peace between the Armenian and Turkish peoples.
