Due to the current lockout in the National Hockey League (NHL), many NHL stars are now playing in the Kontinental Hockey League in Europe.

And some of NHL’s Russian stars are returning to their country. As case in point, Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni “Geno” Malkin is now at Metallurg Magnitogorsk, whereas Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin is playing at HC Dynamo Moscow.

And here are some hits involving Malkin and Ovechkin.

To note, the National Hockey League is an “unincorporated not-for-profit association” which operates a major professional ice hockey league of 30 franchised member clubs, of which seven are currently located in Canada and 23 in the United States.

The Kontinental Hockey League, on the other hand, is an international professional ice hockey league in Eurasia founded in 2008. It is commonly considered to be the strongest hockey league in Europe, and the second-best in the world.
