Nurlan Ibrahimov, head of the press and public relations department of Qarabag football club of Azerbaijan, will be penalized for his anti-Armenian post on social media. According to the club statement, Ibrahimov had made such a post on social media, allegedly after suffering a psychological injury.
"Ibrahimov was prosecuted for committing an offense in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. An administrative case has been filed against Nurlan Ibrahimov by the Azerbaijani prosecution bodies, and it has been sent to court where a decision on the sanction will be made. In addition, according to the disciplinary code of our club, the actions of Nurlan Ibrahimov will be investigated by the disciplinary committee, as a result of which appropriate disciplinary penalties will be imposed," the club said in a statement.
It should be reminded that UEFA has launched an investigation into Qarabag, as Ibrahimov wrote on social media that all Armenians - including children, women, and the elderly - should be killed. Earlier, the Football Federation of Armenia petitioned to UEFA demanding to expel Qarabag from the European Cup tournaments.
