US Open: Djokovic fined $10,000 for “unsportsmanlike conduct”

Novak Djokovic has been fined an additional $10,000 for “unsportsmanlike behavior” following his dramatic disqualification from the US Open on Sunday night, The Daily Mail reported.

Djokovic, who has already been stripped of his $250,000 in prize money for reaching the last-16, was given a further punishment by tournament organizers for his actions on court against Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta.

As reported earlier, world No. 1-ranked player Novak Djokovic was defaulted for his conduct in the Round of 16 of the US Open.

When choosing a ball before serving in the first set of his match with Busta, Djokovic seemed to inadvertently hit a ball and strike a line judge in the neck

And the chair umpire had decided to officially default the Serbian tennis star.
