NBA star tests positive for COVID-19

Star of the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Russell Westbrook, 31, announced on his Twitter that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and wasn’t able to travel to Orlando to take part in the restart of the NBA season.

“I tested positive for COVID-19 prior to my team’s departure to Orlando. I’m currently feeling well, quarantined, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support. Please take this virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up!” he tweeted.

The NBA season, which was discontinued as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, will resume on July 31 and end on October 12 at Disney World.
