McGregor extends condolences to Nurmagomedov

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor has extended his condolences over the untimely death of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father of reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“The loss of a father, a coach, and a dedicated supporter of the sport. Condolences and rest in peace Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov,” McGregor wrote on Twitter.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov's death was announced on Friday. On May 13, he had suffered a stroke and was taken to hospital. Nurmagomedov also had pneumonia caused by the coronavirus. Doctors had hooked him up to a ventilator.
