Benfica sack head coach

Portugal’s Benfica sacked their 44-year-old Portuguese head coach Bruno Lage, the press service of the football club reports.

In the previous round of the Portuguese football championship, Benfica were defeated by Maritimu 0-2 and are already 6 points behind Portu in the race for the championship.

Last year, Bruno Lage helped Benfica become Portugal’s champion and win the super cup.

Benfica are negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur’s former head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
