Multiple world gymnastics champion, candidate for the Russian Olympic team Artur Dalaloyan has urged not to boycott or cancel the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

“We all need to make maximum efforts to overcome this pandemic, prevent the spread of the coronavirus and get back to our normal lives, that is, work and competitions.

There is no need to cancel or boycott the Olympics. It’s not right. It’s a lack of respect for the athletes and people who have done a lot of work. Japan has done a lot and built Olympic structures,” Artur Dalaloyan said, reports sport-express.ru.

Australia and Canada have officially announced that they won’t participate in the Tokyo Olympics and have urged to postpone them. The 2020 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 8.
