President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach said they would make a final decision on whether to postpone the Olympic Games over coronavirus or not after a discussion with the World Health Organization.

“We will follow the advice of the WHO,” he said in an interview with German television ARD.

He said IOC was now still working towards preparing for a “successful” Games.

“The rating tournaments of the Olympic Games are postponed due to the coronavirus, and this is a rather serious problem. We need to find a better solution to this problem, which should not harm the prestige of the Olympic Games, nor the athletes, nor the billions of people who are looking forward to the start of Tokyo 2020,” he said.
