Klopp: Atletico defence was exceptional
12:12 19 February, 2020Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp said Atletico showed an “exceptional” defense in the Champions League round 16 first leg that Reds lost 0-1.
“The concentration level of the Atletico defence was exceptional tonight, I have to say. Yes, they defend with a big heart, but the concentration level in this final third was really, really good,” he told Liverpool official website.
“So now it is half-time, we are 1-0 down. We would not give up if we had 15 minutes of half-time, so why should we give up when we have three weeks? Even better, the second half will be played in a different stadium, in our stadium, and that will be different as well. Atletico will feel that and that's what we are looking forward to.”
