Diego Simeone says he admires Liverpool as a rival
11:50 18 February, 2020Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone said he admires Liverpool, a team that Atletico will face in the Champions League Round 16 on February 18, Yahoo News reported.
“We have always spoken about great teams throughout time and I have no doubt this Liverpool is going to go down in history as a great team because it is different to teams that we have admired (in the past),” he told reporters. “This team is much more intense, more adaptable, and it makes me admire it as a rival.”
Simeone noted that Liverpool have become even stronger since Philippe Coutinho left.
