FC Barcelona deny news about organizing information campaign against team's footballers

FC Barcelona have officially denied news about organizing an information campaign against certain members of the team in relation to the upcoming presidential elections.

“With regards to information published today about the contracting of a company dedicated to creating opinion on social media with a view to damaging the image of third parties related directly or indirectly with the Club, FC Barcelona roundly deny any relationship, and furthermore, the contracting of services linked to social media accounts that have broadcast negative or disparaging messages,” the official statement reads.

Earlier, Sport.es had reported that FC Barcelona have launched cooperation with a social media network to spread disparaging messages about the team’s former footballers.

Ahead of the upcoming presidential elections, FC Barcelona want to weaken the positions of footballers who may in any way have an impact on the outcome of the elections.
