FIDE: Armenia’s Aronian still World No. 6
16:10 1 February, 2020The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has published its monthly world ranking of chess players, and Armenian chess leader Levon Aronian has maintained his 6th place.
The world leader is still world champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway.
Armenia’s Gabriel Sargissian (44th) and Hrant Melkumyan (77th) are also among the top 100 chess players of the world, and this time they have been joined by Karen H. Grigoryan (91th) who has made it to this top 100 for the first time.
And Armenia’s Elina Danielian (63rd), Lilit Mkrtchian (64th), and Anna M. Sargsyan (88th) are among the top 100 chess players in the women's monthly rankings.
