Marcos Pizzelli retiring from professional football

Brazilian-born former Armenia international Marcos Pizzelli, who has transferred to Ararat-Armenia, is ending his professional football career, the press service of Ararat-Armenia reports.

Due to the injury he had sustained during personal training in Brazil, Marcos underwent additional medical examination in Armenia, and it has become clear that the player needs surgery, but which he refused and decided to retire.

Pizzelli had arrived in Yerevan on January 7 to prepare for the Armenian Premier League matches in the Ararat-Armenia squad.

The 35-year-old midfielder has played in 68 matches for the Armenian national team, scoring 11 goals.
