Vermaelen says it was unbelievable experience to play with Messi

Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen said his teammate Lionel Messi made him a better player.

“I’m very happy that I could play with one of the best there’s ever been,” he told Goal.com.

 “He made me a better player. 

“It was an unbelievable experience. He eventually becomes one of your team-mates, but at the beginning he’s a big star. 

Vermaelen,34,  played for Barcelona from 2014 to 2019.
