Vanetsyan appoints dismissed coach of Russian team as Armenian team's head coach

Aleksandr Grigoryan, who was dismissed from the post of head coach of the Russian Tambov football club, is about to coach the Armenian football team, but there is still no official announcement about his appointment.

NEWS.am Sport learned that owner of FC Urartu Jevan Cheloyants and President of FC Lori Tovmas Grigoryan have nominated and endorse the 53-year-old candidate, who is currently in Yerevan.

President of the Football Federation of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan has approved the recommendation. Some leaders of the FFA are against Grigoryan’s candidacy, including the Federation’s technical director.

According to NEWS.am Sport, members of the Russian national team have also expressed their concerns about and negative attitude towards the possible appointment.
