Russian presses yesterday reported that midfielder for Yerevan’s FC Pyunik and the Armenian national football team Erik Vardanyan will sign a three-year deal with FC Sochi.

Coach of the goalkeepers of the Russian football club and the Armenian national football team Roman Berezovsky confirmed the news in an interview with NEWS.am Sport.

“Nobody consulted Erik Vardanyan’s transfer with me. His transfer came as a surprise. I hope Erik is able to show his best sides in FC Sochi. I’ll meet and talk to Vardanyan tomorrow,” the legendary goalkeeper said.

When asked if he will continue to coach the goalkeepers of the national team after Armen Gyulbudaghyants’s resignation, Berezovsky said he might.

Vardanyan, 21, is disqualified in Armenia for six months for his non-athlete behavior.
