FIDE: Levon Aronian in 8th place
14:07 1 November, 2019FIDE has released the annual table of chess players’ ratings. The Armenian chess team’s leading player Levon Aronian is in 8th place.
He is behind world champion, Norwegian chess player Magnus Carlsen, as well as American, Chinese, French, Azerbaijani, Dutch and Russian chess players Fabiano Caruana, Liren Ding, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Anish Giri and Ian Nepomniachtchi.
Out of Armenia’s representatives, Gabriel Sargsyan (47th place) and Hrant Melkumyan (79th place) are among the 100 top players.
