Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon broke the record of Milan legend Paolo Maldini, 90min reported

The 41-year-old Italian goalkeeper spent his 903rd match at the club level. This is a record among Italian football players.

Maldini as part of Milan (1984-2009) made 902 appearances. Buffon made 903 appearances with Parma, Juventus and PSG.

“Buffon is now the second-choice goalkeeper behind Wojciech Szczęsny, but is likely to play occasionally throughout the 2019/20 season. The Juve man is also closing in on the all-time Serie A appearance record of 647 games, held again by Maldini,” the source noted.
