Maria Sharapova advances to Indian Wells quarter-finals

World number two Maria Sharapova advanced to the quarter-finals in Indian Wells where she will face fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko.

Sharapova had an easy victory over Italy’s Roberta Vinci 6-1, 6-2.

World number one Victoria Azarenka defeated Julia Goerges from Germany.
