Chess World Cup 2019: Levon Aronian vs Maxime Vachier-Lagrave draw

In the first game of the quarter-final of the World Chess Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, the leader of the Armenian chess Levon Aronian (2758) tied with the Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (2774). The game ended on the 44th move. The return clash will take place on September 24.

US representative Jeffery Xiong (2707) and Azerbaijani Teimour Radjabov (2758) also shared the point.

The games of Alexander Grischuk (2759) vs Ding Liren (2811), Nikita Vitiugov (2732) vs Yu Yangyi (2763) continue.

In the event of reaching the semifinals, Aronian’s opponent will be the winner of the Xiong - Radjabov pair.
