UEFA has announced the name of the footballer who scored the best goal during the 2018-19 season of the UEFA Champions League, and that footballer is forward for FC Barcelona Lionel Messi, who scored a goal from the penalty line during the first match of the semi-final of the previous Champions League season.

FC Barcelona lost to Liverpool 3-4 after the match.
