US Open 2019 sets up record prize pool

The prize fund of the US Open 2019 will be record 57 million dollars, Fox Business reported. 

Last year, this amount was $ 53 million.

The winners of the men’s and women’s singles tournaments will each receive a record $3.85 million payout, while the runners-up will earn $1.9 million each. Players who lose in the first round will still receive $58,000 each.

Over the past four years, the US Open prize pool has grown by 47%.

The tournament is scheduled be held from August 26 to September 8 this year.
