Chinese Olympic champions participate in commercial activities

Chinese Olympic champions earn up to $157,400 for participation in commercial activities, China Daily reports.

Chinese athletes won 38 gold, 27 silver and 22 bronze medals, while prize money for one gold medal is worth $79,000.

In addition, China does not charge taxes from the Olympic champions. Moreover, the champions’ native province, town or village gives them bonus money, apartment, expensive vehicle and also an offer to present a certain company.
